Combat Rubber Raiding Craft

The Autonomous Combat Rubber Raiding Craft (A-CRRC) is a low-cost, multi-role maritime platform designed to provide Navy and expeditionary forces with a flexible solution for personnel movement, logistics support, and emergency response operations. Built upon the proven CRRC architecture, the vessel retains full manual operation as its primary mode, allowing operators to conduct traditional missions without specialized training or infrastructure. Its modular autonomy package can be activated within minutes, transforming the craft from a conventionally piloted boat into an unmanned surface vehicle capable of independent navigation and mission execution.

The A-CRRC supports three operational modes to maximize versatility across a wide range of scenarios. In manual mode, the craft functions as a standard CRRC for routine maritime operations. Waypoint navigation mode enables autonomous transit along preplanned routes for supply delivery, reconnaissance support, or repetitive transport tasks while reducing manpower requirements. Remote-control mode allows operators to pilot the vessel from a safe standoff distance when operating in hazardous, contested, or environmentally challenging conditions. The transition between modes is seamless, enabling crews to adapt quickly to evolving mission requirements without modifying the vessel or interrupting operations.

Designed with affordability, reliability, and simplicity as primary objectives, the A-CRRC serves as a force multiplier for distributed maritime operations. Its autonomous capabilities make it particularly valuable for rescue missions, resupply of isolated units, and personnel insertion or extraction in areas where risk to operators is elevated. By leveraging commercially available navigation, communications, and control technologies integrated into an existing platform, the A-CRRC provides a scalable and rapidly deployable capability that enhances operational reach while minimizing acquisition and sustainment costs.
